GATESVILLE – Merchants Millpond State Park will host “Paint Plein Art” workshops beginning Aug. 12 and every second Saturday of the month thereafter.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. at the park’s Visitors Center and the painting workshops will last two hours (9-11 a.m.). At the end of each workshop, all participants will meet to view all of the art from where they can gain inspiration and insight.

These art workshops are open to any age, any medium, and any experience level.

Participants are encouraged to bring their chosen art mediums, a table or easel, and a chair. They are also encouraged to bring bug spray and sunblock.

Bring a sealed container for paint water, a trash bag, and drinks and snacks.
