GATESVILLE – As days and weeks draw closer and closer to the start of a new school year, time is getting short to enjoy the lazy days of summer.

For those seeking to spend some quality family time together, you need to mark Friday, Aug. 9 on your calendar. It’s on that date that a Community Celebration is planned.

Hosted by Beulah Baptist Church, the celebration is planned for 5-9 p.m. at the Gates County Community Center, located on US 158 adjacent to Gates County High School.

There, attendees can feast on free hot dogs and cool off with snow cones.

There will live music, to include a concert local gospel group Vintage Cross.

Children and adults can enjoy games, to include Corn Hole. There will be a “fishing pond” for kids.

Adults who have outdated/unused medicine at their homes can safely dispose of those items at the event.

Community prayers and testimonies are listed as part of the event.

And the best thing of all is free admission!
