GATESVILLE – Gates County voters seeking to learn more about political candidates seeking local office will have that opportunity next month.

A Candidates Forum, sponsored by the Gates County Index and The Gates County Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 26 at the Gates County Courthouse. The forum is free and open to the public.

Questions for the candidates are being solicited from the public. Send your questions to Marie Allen at gates.chamber.marie@gmail.com or mail to the Chamber at PO Box 334, Gatesville, NC 27938. Questions should be non-candidate specific.

This is an opportunity to submit questions to the candidates running for County Commissioner and Register of Deeds. A pool of questions will be put together to be asked of candidates at the forum. Questions will be provided to all candidates before the event and each candidate will draw questions at random to be asked by the moderator.

Each candidate will also be provided an opportunity to make an opening and closing remark.
