Gates County is blessed to have many men and women who are the first to rush to the aid of those in need.
Gatesville Fire Chief Grant Ashley
For that reason, Gates County Farm Bureau has launched its First Responder of the Month program. The program will recognize a first responder every month and Gates County Farm Bureau will give them a $25 gift card.
The First Responder of the Month for March is Grant Ashley, Chief of the Gatesville Volunteer Fire Department.
Chief Ashley has been a firefighter for 16 years. Prior to becoming the Chief of the department, he served as Assistant Chief and as treasurer.
Gates County Farm Bureau salutes Chief Ashley for directing firefighting efforts as well as maintaining training and maintenance records. Record keeping requirements have increased greatly in recent years.
