The Gates County Chamber of Commerce has published a magazine as the organization continues its effort to promote existing businesses as well as to attract new ones and expand tourism.
The “Welcome – Resource Guide to Gates County” was printed last month and Chamber officials are currently engaged in the distribution process.
The 28-page publication serves as a local business directory as well as listing county resources. It also features articles on some of the unique attractions in Gates County.
“When we started work on this project in 2020, our goal was to produce a publication that would encourage people to think local when they shop for goods and services and to highlight the businesses in Gates County,” said Ed Morgan who serves as President of the Gates County Chamber of Commerce. “The original concept was expanded to be a resource guide for people outside of our area who may not be familiar with Gates County. We’re excited about the end product.”
Chamber officials collectively stressed that this publication will have a ripple effect for local businesses and the county in general.
“Our Chamber Board selected members to serve on a committee to develop a magazine that would be easy to search for information and to provide direct contact to our Chamber, our members, as well as Gates County local government offices,” stated Ray Freeman, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. “Our committee designed the magazine to inspire and complimented it with beautiful photographs of our county. The magazine is both professional and welcoming. It serves as a resource guide for visitors to our county and to those thinking about opening a business here.”
Additionally, the Chamber is working with the newly formed Gates County Tourism Committee, stressing that the Resource Guide will be an asset to promoting tourism.
The publication will be distributed to many visitor centers and museums throughout North Carolina and some in southeastern Virginia counties.
Copies are also inserted inside today’s edition of the Gates County Index.
