SUNBURY – The grand opening of the Free Little Art Gallery in Sunbury was cheered on by a crowd of young and young at heart on Sunday, Feb. 5
Gates County Chamber of Commerce President Ed Morgan welcomed the crowd and congratulated Tammy Lassiter, founder and partner, Studio 32 for a job well done!
Lassiter (Art by Tammy Lassiter) explained the way the little art gallery worked and noted it is the only one in northeastern North Carolina.
It is always open to the community to donate a piece of art or take home a piece of original art. From time to time, art supplies may also be in the little gallery to support and inspire artists.
Some pieces had been donated from Ohio and Maryland as well as local artists.
Susan Ward (President of Studio 32) invited everyone to come in Studio 32 to enjoy the shop and to pick up a gift bag full of art supplies to help celebrate the grand opening.
Advisory Board member Mary Scott (Carolina Colouring) and artist Terri James joined in to support this new endeavor. Artist and photographer, Cheryl Paz, photographed the event.
The ribbon, enhanced with bows from several young artists, was cut by Tammy Lassiter and a cheer was let out from the crowd. Let the adventure begin!
Chamber members showing their support included Terri Moore (Sunbury Boutique), Marie Allen, and Ed Morgan (Kellogg-Morgan Insurance).
